The Vanguard armor set is one of the most practical options available inLords of the Fallen. It offers considerable protection against all damage types while still being light enough to keep players within the Medium weight range. To make things even better, it’s also one of the coolest-looking plate armor sets in the game.
Players can grab the Vanguard armor set relatively early in theLords of the Fallencampaign. However, it is very easy to miss, especially considering the confusing layouts of the game’s many areas. Here’s where to find this armor set.
Lords of the Fallen Vanguard Armor Set Location
The complete Vanguard set is sold by Exacter Dunmire at Skyrest Bridge. However, he will only sell this once players give himVanguard Barros' Rosary, an item found deep within the Forsaken Fen.
To get Vanguard Barros' Rosary, players must firstbeat the Congregator of Fleshand reach the Fen waypoint in the Forsaken Fen. From here, continue down the main path until the area with the curving tree branch near a bonfire guarded by Shuja warriors. Head up the branch and unlock the shortcut back to the Vestige or plant a Vestige Seed in the nearby Umbral flower bed before continuing.
From the tree branch, transition to the Umbral and follow the path shown in the video above. This will take players to a mini-boss arena against aMendacious Visage. Defeat it, then proceed to the elevated huts. Vanguard Baross' body will be in one of them, and so will his rosary.
Take the rosary back toExacter Dunmireto expand his shop with a number of items, including the full Vanguard armor set. If Exacter Dunmire’s store isn’t updating or if he isn’t using his special dialogue regarding the Vanguard, rest again at the Visage or restart the game. The set is rather expensive, so be sure to come witha pocketful of Vigorin order to buy the entire set in one go.
The Vanguard set features a full suit of plate armor with a fur cloak draped over the shoulders. It’s only slightly better than the Dark Crusader’s starting armor set, though it offers significantly more protection compared to the rest of the starting class' default gear. This set can take players all the way to the final boss without any issues, though the same can technically be said with every other armor set in the game.
