The fierce competition among streaming platforms escalates further as Kick, the Stake-backed streaming platform aiming to rival established platforms such as Twitch andYouTube, has reportedly signed yet another highly renowned content creator. This exciting development comes hot on the heels ofKick’s earlier announcements regarding the signings of two of Twitch’s biggest stars, xQc and Amouranth.

Kick made its debut approximately 7 months ago, and it quickly garnered attention with its groundbreaking signing of Adin Ross, who reportedly secured the most lucrative streaming deal ever at that time. Throughout the following months, the platform received a mix of praise from numerous influencers who recognized its potential for success, as well as skepticism from others. Notably, renowned streamerSodapoppin expressed doubts about Kick’s future, stating that he would consider a million-dollar contract from Kick if offered, but drew comparisons to the now-defunct platform Mixer and suggested that Kick might face a similar fate. He added that Kick would honor its existing contracts, and ultimately, he would return to Twitch.

Despite these doubts, Kick continues to make significant strides in the streaming world as it recently signed another major content creator, Destiny, who announced the partnership during his latest YouTube podcast. Revealing a 12-month contract, Destiny outlined two key conditions: his personal website would no longer embed his stream directly, and the “Kick chat has to be on stream”. However, Destiny assured his audience that this is not an exclusive streaming contract, as he will continue streaming onYouTube.

Although the exact financial details ofcontroversial streamer Destiny’s contract were not disclosed, he did mention that the deal was not in the eight or nine-figure range. Destiny also made it clear that he would not have entered into such a deal for six figures, implying that the value of the contract exceeds that amount.

Undoubtedly, this is welcome news for Kick, which continues to experience rapid growth. The signing of Destiny, who already boasts a massive fan base on various platforms, is set to further contribute to Kick’s success. While it remains to be seen which platform will dominate the streaming world in the coming years,Kick’s consistent efforts in securing prominent streamers, offering a superior revenue split, and continuously enhancing the platform with new features demonstrate their commitment to making a significant impact in the streaming industry.
