It Takes Two, the cooperative action-adventure game from Josef Fares and Hazelight Studios, has become one of the most well-reviewed games of 2021. Its sales seem to be rising in turn, carried in-part due to word of mouth. This week’s Steam top-sellers chart featuresIt Takes Twoas the leading game of the week, an achievement it has claiming for the first time after several weeks just missing the mark.
It Takes Twotook first place for Steam’s weekly top-sellers chart ending on April 18, meaning it brought in more revenue than any other product. Officially launching on March 26, this is the fourth weekIt Takes Twohas been on the chart. Its first week,It Takes Twowas in seventh place, and the two weeks that followedIt Takes Twowas second on the chartfollowing the surgingOutriders.

Outridershas fallen significantly on this week’s chart alongside several other games.Halo: The Master Chief Collectionfell off due to the end of a Microsoft publisher sale, as didHorizon Zero Dawn. Then, bothEuro Truck Simulator’sIberiaDLC andThe Binding of Isaac: Repentancedropped due to launch sales winding down, which made up nearly half of last week’s chart.
The replacements for the missing half of the chart feature only one newly released product,Stellaris’NemesisDLC, which got second place on this week’s chart. The other returning games areMonster Hunter World: Iceborne,The Forest, andSatisfactory, in seventh, eighth, and tenth respectively.IceborneandThe Forestare discounted right now, whileSatisfactoryjust put out a massive update.
WhileIt Takes Two’s continued popularity on Steam is deserving of recognition, it’s also true that it had some help this week. There were no major game releases, bothOutridersandValheim’s sales continue to drop week-to-week, and several big sales ended. That said,It Takes Twofans should certainly be happy regardless of the circumstances.
Holding the number one position going into next week will likely be a challenge forIt Takes Two.Nier Replicantwill be launching on April 23 and is likely to be popular, and there’s also the motorcycle gameMotoGP 21. Still,It Takes Two’s consistency has been impressive so far. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see it high on next week’s list too.
It Takes Twois available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
