Invinciblecreator Robert Kirkman “guarantees” that fans will never have to wait for a new season as long as they had to for season 2. It has been two and a half years since the first season released its final episode, and the second season will finally premiere on November 3rd. Previously, Kirkman explained that the onlyreason for theInvincibleseason 2 release date delaywas the COVID-19 pandemic, which caused them to shut down and required a long time to rebuild the team. In an interview withVariety, Kirkman was asked if they plan to release a newInvincibleseason each year.
“That is the goal. The realities of animation may make that a little difficult, but what I can guarantee is that the gap between Season 1 and 2 is the longest gap we should ever have, you know, barring some unforeseen catastrophe. It may be every 18 months or 16 months or 13 months or every 12 months. We’re still trying to figure that out.”

Invinciblefans may not get a new season every year, but it is good to hear that Kirkman and his team are making that their goal. Kirkman was talking about seasons ofInvincible, so they could still decide toproduce other spin-offs like the Atom Eve specialto tide fans over between seasons. However, Kirkman still made sure to cover his bases in the case of another “unforeseen catastrophe” shutting down production.
Invincibleseason 1 was remarkable, which made the wait for season 2 so much more painful. Luckily, the series has already been renewed for season 3, and Kirkman has his plan for how many seasons the show would need tocover the entirety of theInvinciblecomics.
