For those currently at home waiting out the coronavirus pandemic, video games are a pretty obvious way to pass the time. Luckily, there are plenty of new games currently on the market. While not out quite yet,Resident Evil 3 Remakecurrently has ademo available for free– with a difficult safe to crack.
There’s a good chance that most players encountered the safe during their playthrough, and whileResident Evil 3does give a hint as to how to open it, it isn’t all that straight forward as to what needs to happen next. For those that missed it, the safe can be found near Moon’s Donuts, a big location in therevamped Raccoon City. Outside of the donut shop to the right, there’s a staircase. Walk up those stairs, take a left, and players will find a storage room. The safe should be immediately apparent, as there’s a corpse right next to it.

Cracking the Safe
Now for the hard part. The body next to the safe is the shopkeeper, who has made a hefty profit selling a hair care product. His goods have been stashed away in the safe, though the code is kept between him and the “Aqua Cure Queen.” Nearby, there’s an area called Redstone Pharmacy. To get there, continue through the storage room and outside. There will be a staircase leading down to the street with the pharmacy on the other side.
That pharmacy, conveniently, has a large Aqua Cure poster with a blonde woman asking players to call her. Below, there’s a phone number with nine, one, and eight circled from left to right. As most can probably guess, that’s the safe combo. Return to the storeroom, avoiding any zombies or otherResident Evilmonstersthat may try to turn players into snacks along the way. Unlock the safe by entering the numbers left, right, left, and inside there will be a handgun sight. Using the inventory menu, combine the sight with the handgun.
While that may seem like a lackluster reward considering players just robbed a haircare entrepreneur, the sight is incredibly useful. It makes it much easier to tell where bullets are actually going to go, helping line up shots on the undead. Unfortunately, the demo is brief, but if players unlock the safe first thing, their odds of staving ofNemesisare much better.
