The PS5 version ofHorizon: Forbidden Westcomes at the cost of an extra $10 compared to the PS4 version.

However, this price gap can be eluded if a PlayStation 5 owner knows where to look. As owners of thePlayStation 4 version ofHorizon: Forbidden Westwill gain an upgrade to the PS5 version at launch, someone looking to save a little money needs only to buy the PlayStation 4 version of the game. This at first seems quite the task when the built-in PlayStation 5 store only allows a player to purchase the PS5 version.
By using a web browser though, it is possible to get around this limitation. By heading over to the PSN preorder page forHorizon: Forbidden Westand ignoring the top listing, a prospective owner is given three options to buy the game, allowing them to purchase the standard PS4 edition. Players can also get a cheaper PS5 version by buying a physical copy of the PS4 version ofHorizon: Forbidden West, yet this requires the PS4 disc to be in the console at all times when playing.
While this is a simple trick for those who own a PS5, there are still plenty of gamers out there struggling to get their hands on the elusive machines. With PS5 restocks becoming slightly more common, scalpers are still proving to be a huge problem for gamers. Yet,Horizon: Forbidden Weststill seems a great experience no matter what platform it is on, boasting new visuals, narrative threads and over40 machines for Aloy to fight and override.
