Honkai: Star Railhas officially announced the first of its new five-star characters coming with the Version 1.5 update, the Foxian Judge-in-training Huohuo. With the launch of the Version 1.4 update for HoYoverse’s massively successful sci-fi RPG on the way, many players are hotly anticipating the reveals of the next update’s characters. HoYoverse has already confirmed threenew characters coming in Version 1.4 with Jingliu, Topaz, and Guinaifen arriving soon. Now, with just a few days left until the Special Program for Version 1.4, the developer is beginning to tease the 1.5 update’s lineup.
Honkai: Star Rail’s roster has expanded significantly throughout its opening patches, adding a wide variety of new characters to the game. The antagonistic Stellaron Hunters have already seen multiple members join the game’s roster between Silver Wolf, Blade, and Kafka.Star Rail’s roster would even welcome its first alternate version of a pre-existing character, introducing Imbibitor Lunae as another version of starter character Dan Heng. Now, Huohuo will look to be the first character joining the game in Version 1.5.

A new update toHonkai: Star Rail’s social media accounts has revealed Huohuo as the first member of Version 1.5’s limited lineup, introducing players to the small Foxian. Huohuo is revealed to be a Judge-in-training withthe Ten-Lords Commission of the Xianzhou Luofu, often tasked with the capture and elimination of dangerous spirits. The post also reveals Huohuo will have two voice actors, with a male voice for the Heliobus spirit named “Tail” trapped inside her tail. Huohuo is believed to be releasing with the launch of Version 1.5, currently expected for November 22nd.
While only fully revealing her identity withinHonkai: Star Rail, Huohuo’s reveal post does give some hints about how the newest five-star character will play. Huohuo’s teaser image reveals her to be a Wind character in the Abundance Path, suggesting she will play the role of a healer in team compositions. Huohuo will bethe first Wind element characterin the healing-oriented path and the fifth Wind character overall added toStar Rail. She will also be the third playable member of the Xianzhou Luofu’s Foxian race, following Tingyun and Yukong before her.
Alongside Huohuo’s reveal,Honkai: Star Railis expected to unveil two more new characters in the days leading up to Version 1.4’s Special Program. Each Special Program for the game is typically preceded by new reveals for the following patch, often welcoming two five-star characters and one four-star unit. Past leaks from the game have teasedfive-star character Argenti and four-star unit Hanyaas Version 1.5’s other new characters. Huohuo’s addition toStar Rail’s roster will give players another option when looking to slot a healer into their teams.
