While Netflix’sThe Witcherseries is an adaptation of the books and not CD Projekt Red’s video game series, the show still pays homage to the games in some ways. One example is the Geralt bathtub scene, which is shot in a way almost identical to how it appears in the games. However, the difference is that Henry Cavill doesn’t put his feet on the tub like Geralt does in the games, and we now know why.
In an interview with BBC Radio 1, Cavill explained why he didn’t put his feet up duringThe Witcherbathtub scene. “I was trying to put my feet up, and I couldn’t. The bath was the wrong shape. But I thought that might have been a bit much as well,” Cavill explained. The fact that Cavill attempted to get his feet up to mimic the video game scene at all is a testament to his extreme dedication to the role of Geralt. Cavill went to great lengths to bring Geralt to life properly, even wearing eye contacts that could have blinded him. The WitcherNetflix series hasn’t been without its criticism, though. There were some viewers who complained about the show’s multiple timelines, as they felt that it made the story more difficult to follow. Luckily, the major complaints aimed atThe Witcher’s first season will be rectified inThe Witcherseason 2. This should go a long way in ensuring thatThe Witcherseason 2 is an even bigger success than the first season of the show, though it will be some time before fans find out.
