As highlighted in an X post by the CEO of Arrowhead Games Johan Pilestedt,Helldivers 2has received a server capacity increase to account for the massive hype the game is getting. The revamped volume will allow the game to handle 800,000 concurrent users at once. However, it has been stated that players might still witness “light queues” while trying to enter the game during peak hours. Pilestedt also highlights the importance of the development, stressing the fact that theHelldivers 2team merely consists of about 100 developers.

On February 22, the maximum capacity was increased to 700,000, and at that point, the developers had revealed that players might still face issues since the player count can easily touch that number.
