Revealed back at E3 2018,Halo Infinitehas been in development for a long time. Before its delay during the summer of 2020, the developers planned to release the anticipated game alongside thepowerful Xbox Series X. The game was meant to be the first-party title to show off the power of the next generation of Xbox consoles.

Unfortunately for fans, not everything went according to plan for Xbox, as thereception for theHalo Infinitecampaignwas underwhelming. This negative response from the community caused the developers to delay the game until December of 2021. Despite this delay, some promotional materials had already managed to make their way into stores for a 2020 launch. Recently, a fan revealed that one of these old stands has never been taken down.

In a recent Reddit post, aHalofan known as capedpotatoes shared an image of aHalo Infinite-themed Monster Energy stand. Despite part of the stand being hidden behind other merchandise, the picture clearly shows the logos for both brands. While it might not seem unusual to see promotional material for the game in stores, the fan revealed that the stand had been in the shop for over a year. Capedpotatoes joked that after a year in the shop, “it’s nearly relevant!”

The stand sported a black color along with the branding forHalo Infiniteand Monster Energy. In addition, a picture of the Master Chief was visible on the side. The Reddit user noted that the stand continued to have stock of Monster energy drinks and that the products included a promotion that read “2x XP with every can.” Furthermore, capedpotatoes gave some insight into the whereabouts of the stand, saying that it was located in a small store in South Wales.

ThisHalo Infinitepromotional stand has made quite a splash with the Xbox community on Reddit. With over 1,900 upvotes, many fans of the Master Chief were surprised that the display remained standing in the same place for over a year. Some fans imagined what type of game they would have received ifHalo Infinitehad launched when these promotional materials advertised that it would. Others joked that they weren’t sure that Monster Energy would appreciate Red Bull drinks being placed inside the stand as well.

Beyond stands such as the one discovered by capedpotatoes, Xbox has released other promotional products ahead of the game’s release. Recently, the company unveiled theHalo InfiniteXbox Series X console. This new design based on Zeta Halo was meant to celebrate the game’s launch. Furthermore, an Xbox Elite Series 2 controller based on the Master Chief’s MJOLNIR armor was announced for pre-order as well.
