Arc System Works announces that the next DLC character reveal forGuilty Gear Strivehas been delayed to next month. Earlier this past December, fans got a briefteaser of the eighth DLC character coming toGuilty GearStrive, which is part of the game’s second season pass. This was shown during ArcRevo 2022, which is the developer’s premiere fighting game tournament. While it was originally touting a March reveal, it has now been delayed to next month.The second season pass ofGuilty Gear Strivehad kicked off with two returning veteran fighters to the series. The first was Bridget, a fighter who was introduced inGuilty Gear XX, followed bySin Kiske, the son ofGuilty Gearregulars Dizzy and Sin Kiske. Bridget and Sin were added toStrive’s roster this past August and November respectively. Instead, theGuilty Gear Striveteam has opted to move its release date to early April, citing that they wished to provide the best possible quality for the fighter. The tweet also apologized to fans who were looking forward to the reveal in March, politely thanking everyone who understood their reasoning.
The responses to the tweet were filled with positive messages and understanding, with some fans excited about who it could be. Fans started putting out theirwishlists and predictions for the nextGuilty Gear Strivecharacter, with some hoping it’d be the sister of Ramlethal Valentine, Elphelt Valentine, with others hoping it’d be A.B.A. fromGuilty Gear Isuka.
Currently, therumored most likely eighth fighter forGuilty Gear Striveseems to be Delilah, based on leaks and internal datamining of the game. The teaser from last December also seems to be hinting at this, where it showed cutscenes from theGuilty Gear Strive -Another Story-DLC. Delilah was introduced as Bedman’s sister in this DLC and was an integral part of the expansion. While it’s possible that Delilah will be debuting as the next playable character of Season 2, this is only speculation for now. After April rolls around and the eighth character is released, there will only be one character left of the season pass.
Guilty Gear Striveis available now on PC, PS4, and PS5. Xbox One and Series X/S versions will come in 2023.
