But now, one fan has paid homage to Tommy in a way that is wholly unique by presenting a distinct interpretation of the character as a female, which has gone on to spark a wider community discussion on Reddit regarding how having a female protagonist may change the public perception of the legendary character.
As shown above, model dadahanych has shared their incredible homage to the community that shows fans a “female version [of] Tommy Vercetti.” Posting their accurate interpretation alongside several in-game images, dadahanych has captured the prominent visual elements of Tommy while also offering both a unique and reinvigorated take on the protagonist. Not only did dadahanych introduce props to better the imitation, but their Turquoise Hawaiian shirt, blue stone-washed jeans, and white sneakers appear as if they lifted it directly out ofGrand Theft Auto Vice City.
Dadahanych’s post went viral on Reddit with over 1,700 upvotes, as fans on the thread seemed to enjoy seeing a female version of theGrand Theft Autoprotagonist. In the replies, users were supportive and vocal, saying “we definitely need a GTA game with a female lead.” While there are several strong NPC women in some of Rockstar’s releases, likeRed Dead Redemption 2’sSadie Adler, it’s clear gamers want a playable female protagonist with her own storyline. Fortunately, despite Rockstar being hush-hush about future series developments, various leakers have hinted at a possiblefemale protagonist inGrand Theft Auto 6.
