On October 25, comic book fans will once again get the chance to fight crime in the fictional Gotham City, only this time they won’t assume the role of Batman. Instead, Warner Bros. is giving fans the opportunity to take the same responsibility of being the city’s protector inGotham Knightsas Batman’s sidekicks. Ahead of the game’s release, developer WB Games Montreal has started to reveal new details, and one of them is how suit styles are going to be an essential part ofGotham Knights.
InGotham Knights, players will assume the role of Nightwing, Batgirl, Robin, and/or Red Hood following the tragic death of both Bruce Wayne and Commissioner Gordon, making the surviving Bat-family the last hope for Gotham City. Prior to this, WB Games Montreal has given players a better look at howGotham Knights’characters will carry out their rolesin taking back Gotham City from the hands of the mysterious Court of Owls. One of the highlights is character customization, and this apparently includes a substantial level of depth for suit customization.

According toGotham Knights’executive producer Fleur Marty during a recent interview with Game Informer, each of the four superheroes that players will control in the game has 11 different suit styles. Within each style, players will have the option to customize it further with different pieces and different colorways, giving the suit not only a more distinct look, but also better stats and bonuses that canhelpGotham Knightsplayers determine their own preferred playstyle.
Gotham Knights’game director Geoff Ellanor likened each suit style to a silhouette, with players unlocking an instance of the silhouette each time theycraft a suit inGotham Knights. These crafting and customization features are likely to keep players busy inGotham Knights, especially since they can find blueprints for new suits by exploring the city, as well as earn the materials to craft them through completing missions. Players shouldn’t also rule out the possibility of more suit styles coming to the game through DLCs.
With the game’s release date getting closer than ever, it’s only a matter of time before players can judge whether these seemingly deep suit customization features will be worth the amount of time they will be putting intoGotham Knights. Hopefully, it will be even better thanBatman: Arkham Knight’salready impressive selection of suits.
