A Reddit user named Warriors-Wrath has shared an image fromGod of War Ragnarokshowing a tattoo on Tyr’s arm. As seen in the picture, Tyr has a tattoo of Egyptian hieroglyphs all over his left arm. Warriors-Wrath claims to have just noticed this detail as fans try to theorize its connections toGod of War Ragnarok’s lore.

One player mentions that they can be related to how Tyr was able to regrow his arm. For those unaware, a piece of dialogue fromGod of War Ragnarokindicates that Tyr lost his arm in a fight, but he was able to regrow it which is another reason why a fan speculates that it’s the reason his sleeve looks torn. However, the same user claims that Tyr lost his right arm in Norse mythology, while this image shows the tattoo on his left.

Other fans discuss the implications of this tattoo on the overallGod of Warfranchise, as it could hint at the next game being set in Egypt. One user even has an interesting theory about how thestory of Kratos and Atreuscould lead them to Egypt. It’ll be interesting to see if this theory ends up coming true but as of now, developer Santa Monica Studio has confirmed thatGod of War Ragnarokis the final game in the Norse saga. The studio considered making it into a trilogy but ultimately decided to finish the tale in two entries.

Fans should note that Sony released anew update forGod of War Ragnarokthat added a photo modeto the game. A photo mode was probably among the top-most user-requested additions, and it seems like this feature was used to take the image in the Reddit post as well.
