With the debut of the HoYoverse RPG’s next major region only a few weeks away, fans have already been treated to teasers for plenty of upcoming characters. Arecently released preview trailer for Fontaineshowed off a plethora of newcomers including Lyney and Lynette, Navia, Hydro Archon Furina and more. Now, the newest leak is giving hints about when one featured character will debut.
Since the launch ofGenshin Impactin late 2020, the Fatui’s Harbingers have been built up as the game’s primary antagonists throughout its overarching story. The highest rungs of the Snezhnaya-based organization have often driven the plots for the game’s pre-existing region, with multiple becoming playable following their roles in the story. Tartaglia and Wanderer have both already been introduced to the game’s roster while others like Signora and Dottore have appeared in antagonistic NPC roles. Now, one of the most highly-anticipated Harbingers is reportedly set to launch during Fontaine’s cycle.

A new update shared by prominentGenshin Impactleaker Tao via fellow leaker Keika has revealed theexpected release window for Fontaine’s Fatui Harbinger. The Harbinger, heavily believed to be Arlecchino, is reportedly planned for the second half of the Fontaine cycle, pushing their projected release date likely into early 2024. The post also suggests thatArlecchino’s kit may feature design elementsrelated to the region planned to follow Fontaine, the Pyro-themed Natlan. Arlecchino has not yet appeared in-game withinGenshin Impact, only shown within animated trailers.
While Arlecchino has yet to make her in-game debut, fans are already awaiting her launch after the character’s appearance in multiple trailers. The Harbinger first debuted inthe “Winter Night’s Lazzo” trailer, showcasing each member of the mysterious organization. Arlecchino was also seemingly confirmed to play a major role in the story of the Fontaine region, owed to her significant spotlight within the previously mentioned Fontaine teaser. Past rumors and leaks had also suggested that fellow Fatui Harbinger Sandrone could potentially become a playable character if Arlecchino does not join the roster.
Arlecchino’s expected introduction later in the Fontaine cycle will mark the third member of the Fatui to join the game’s roster with the last member seeing similar fan excitement. Wanderer, formerly known as Scaramouche, made his playable debut inGenshin Impactduring Version 3.3 and quickly became one ofGenshin Impact’s best-selling new characters. Wanderer would play a leading role in the story of Sumeru after previously appearing in both Inazuma and Mondstadt. Arlecchino’s eventual addition to the game will likely look to see similar success to her Fatui counterparts.
