The next few weeks will be packed with video game news and information, as event season rolls around. With E3, Summer Game Fest, and more kicking off soon, fans should be getting news from just about every major publisher under the sun. Of course, the past week has been surprisingly packed with news, despite the events being right around the corner.
Far Cry 6Narrative Director Navid Khavariclarified that the game is, in fact, political. The clarification came after comments Khavari made stating thatFar Cry 6isn’t a political commentary on Cuba, specifically, which some took to mean that there were no politics in the game whatsoever.

Elsewhere,CD Projekt Red’s profits are downfollowing the disastrous launch ofCyberpunk 2077.The developer missed Q1 targets significantly, falling 64.7% compared to last year. CD Projekt Red is working to correct theCyberpunk 2077situation, releasing an updated roadmap, though it’s still sparse on details. The game does have a new director, though, which may help put it back on the right track.
Meanwhile, Nintendo’s rumored Switch Pro console is probably real, with listings for aSwitch Pro appearing on several retailer websites. Certain industry figures have also confirmed that an announcement is imminent, so it could happen any day now. Nintendo revealed its E3 2021 showcase will focus on new software, so it’s likely that the Switch Pro version of games will take center stage there.
Finally,God of War2 has been delayed, in a move that shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to anyone. Santa Monica Studio released a statement regarding the delay, stating that it was to preserve the game’s quality and ensure that the team was in good health. It raises a lot of questions about PlayStation’s upcoming lineup, but it’s ultimately a good thing.
