Fuslie, musician and variety streamer, has officially announced that she’s leftTwitchand signed an exclusive deal with YouTube. Over the past year, there’s been a significant shift of top talent fromTwitch, where many content creators built their audience, to YouTube, which has been willing to offer massive exclusivity contracts. Fuslie’s transfer, however, likely won’t come as too big of a surprise to those who have been following recent platform swaps.

In an announcement video shared on YouTube and social media,Fuslieis shown “going guitar shopping.” She picks up a purple electric guitar, strums and gets rocked by feedback, and says, “Not my style.” She then looks at a tiny blue ukulele, pauses, and shrugs. Finally, she finds a red acoustic guitar and is immediately enamored. It’s exactly what she’s looking for and she goes on to play a song with a group of familiar friends.

The group of Fuslie’s friends is especially interesting. The band is composed ofValkyrae, LilyPichu, and Sykkuno. Then there are also two cameos, playing trombone and saxophone. Those cameos are Ludwig and Myth. It’s a found family of live streamers that previously were signed with Twitch who have now made the jump to YouTube, all having fun together. In that regard, the video is as much a celebration of joining YouTube as it is a shot across the bow at Twitch.

In her first stream on YouTube, Fuslie talked a small amount about the reasons why she decided to make the jump to YouTube. Without getting into specifics, she explained that YouTube was muchmore flexible than Twitch. While it still had requirements for the number of hours she had to stream, she had full control over when and if she played ads. She said on Twitch that she was consistently below ad targets and that Twitch had to remind her about it.

Obviously, the contract itself was also a big deal to Fuslie. She didn’t get into numbers or anything of the like, but did say when she went to friends and family and asked what was best, they almost all recommended going withYouTube. YouTube is known to offer substantial amounts of guaranteed money for exclusivity.

Fuslie is one of 100 Thieves' contracted content creators, making her just the latest 100 Thieves talent to make the jump. She’s also a friend of theOfflineTVstreaming group, which has also seen some of its talents jump to YouTube. It’s due to these partners that many have expected Fuslie to leaveTwitchand join YouTube for a lengthy amount of time.
