AFortniteplayer has recently discovered that the new Chapter 4 Season 2 update has broken a tradition that has been around since the game was launched six years ago. Now,Fortnitegamers won’t get the chance to visit NOMS anymore.
Constant change has been at the heart ofFortnitesince its original launch in 2017. Originally, the title was not even supposed to be a battle royale game. However, it became one, and this sprawledFortnite’s vibrant competitive scene that constantly changes, helping the game to become a famous worldwide hit. With timed content such as unique skins, weapons, vehicles, and even maps that may disappear between updates, players can get completely different experiences depending on when they are playingFortnite.

Now, the community has discovered that one of the most long-standing traditions of the game is over inFortnite’s Chapter 4 Season 2: NOMS is not a part of the map anymore. The discovery comes from Reddit user Frickyfrackyfrroofre, who searched the whole area in order to find one, only to be disappointed. Some users in the thread even wondered if there was a hidden NOMS store in Mega City, maybe written in Japanese. However, the original poster confirmed that the presence of NOMS is 100% over at this point.
The famous NOMS store is a grocery chain that appears inFortnite’s battle royale mode. It was initially added during the game’s first season in the Retail Row, and several other stores popped up during Chapters 1 and 2 in several locations. However, all of them were eventually destroyed in some ofFortnite’s constant world-changing events. Over time, fewer new NOMS branches were added, and as the game deviated from its original style, they were slowly phased out. All traditions need to end sometime, and the latest update marked their possible definitive end. At the moment, it’s impossible to tell whether NOMS will quietly leave the game forever or if the developers ofFortnitewill bring them back.
Unfortunately, the NOMS store was not the only victim ofFortnite’s latest update. Epic Games has announced after the update that people whostill use Windows 7/8 can’t playFortniteanymore. According to the developers, the new Mega City is significantly more complex than previous maps, and they decided to drop support for legacy systems due to that. So, players with old PCs will need to find other methods if they want to continue playing the title.
