For players who may be unfamiliar,Fortnite’s Creative Mayhem LTMhas players submitting their best scores or times after competing on a designated Creative map. Simply signing up onFortnite’s Creative Mayhem website will grant players the Love Reigns Emoticon, and those who play for a minimum of 30 minutes will be rewarded with the Mace of Hearts Pickaxe. Submitted videos will be reviewed February 15-22, with the first round of qualifiers taking place on February 26 and 27. The tournament will place the top performers with theFortnitecreator selected during sign-up, comprised of well-knownstreamers from around the world like Australia’s Loserfruit, Spain’s Grefg, and USA’s SparklesQT. The Global Finals are on March 12, with a grand total of $100,000 on the line.
The Love is in the Air tournament isn’t the only major new thing recently added to the game. Last week wasFortnite’s v19.20 update patch, which added a number of significant pieces of content. The biggest addition is the introduction of the new Covert Cavern POI, which is home to a Mythic version of the Stinger SMG. The update also unvaults the Heavy Shotgun, although the fan-favorite weapon has received a complete overhaul. Update v19.20 also introduces Feathers, which can be used to unlock Haven’s masks.
With the latestFortniteCreative Mayhem event being a deathrun-based tournament, there are bound to be thousands upon thousands of entrants. With the competition so stiff, there’s bound to be plenty of players who won’t get to play with their favoriteFortnitecelebrity. Fortunately there’s been plenty ofnew skins like Bruno Mars and Anderson Paak, as well as The Rock’s The Foundation, so players can at least pretend they’re playing with (or as) a celebrity.
Fortniteis free-to-play on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
