Science fiction is a popular genre, and each year, many new shows premiere that offers various stories, taking place both in space and on Earth. As a result, it’s easy to forget some relatively recent shows that ran in the 2010s but never became huge hits as other shows did.

The only problem is that Urban’s hero, John, doesn’t like androids in the slightest. So, when he’s forced to work with one, it’s not easy.
The show offers both excellent acting performances and interesting cases the main duo is working on. The futuristic setting is another aspect of the show that many science fiction fans will appreciate. Unfortunately,Almost Humanoffers a cliffhanger at the end since it’s been canceled prematurely.
5Blood Drive
Some science fiction shows portray a utopia while others choose a different approach.Blood Drivefits into the second category. In this world, it’s common to attend car races in cars fueled by human blood. The main hero unwillingly enters such a race and has to cooperate with his new partner to survive. The two do not trust each other which adds to the tension.
The show has both a fascinating concept and many memorable characters, especially Grace, played by Christina Ochoa. It doesn’t shy from violent scenes which might be an issue for some viewers but unlike other stories,Blood Driveworks the violent scenes into the plot in an organic way. The viewers who decide to watch it will be able to binge-watch the show fast since it only has one season and thirteen episodes in total.
4Class
Even though it’s set in the popular world ofDoctor Who, this British series never got as much love from the audience as other shows that take place in the same universe (such asTorchwood). The main reason for this could be that the show worked with characters that weren’t prominent inDoctor Who, unlikeTorchwoodwho had the fan-favorite Captain Jack Harkness, orThe Sarah Jane Adventureswiththe Doctor’s former companion Sarah Jane Smith.

This show focused on teenagers, students at Coal Hill Academy who had to deal with not only everyday issues but also aliens. If anybody wants to discover another corner of theDoctor Whouniverse,Classis an ideal opportunity to do it. Plus, it only has eight episodes, so it’s once again possible to finish watching the series in a short time.
3Dimension 404
Some science fiction anthologies are lucky enough to run for multiple seasons, such as the originalThe Twilight Zone. But others get canceled fast.Dimension 404has only six episodes, each of them with a different story and heroes. Overall, the show focuses on the digital world and the mysteries it hides.
Since every episode has a new story, even if the audience doesn’t like one, they might enjoy the next episode more. The show cast many familiar faces, such as Constance Wu or Lea Michele, andit’s available on Hulu.
2I Am Frankie
There are never enough science fiction shows focused on young girls.I Am Frankiepartially fixes that. As its name suggests, its main heroine is Frankie, who’s far from a normal girl. Frankie is an android who goes to school like normal people, trying to fit in, find new friends, and maybe even get a boyfriend. The show’s relatable since it deals with many topics that teenagers also face in their everyday lives.

Of course, Frankie’s situation is even more complicated because she doesn’t think and feel the way people usually do. That leads to some awkward moments. Even though those viewers who are the same age as Frankie will enjoy the show the most, everybody can enjoy it, especially if they still remember what it was like to be a teenager.I am Frankieran for two seasons and has 41 episodes in total.
1The Tomorrow People
With the onslaught of new superhero shows coming each year, many viewers might forget that multiple shows used this topic before. Robbie Amell stars in the show, and he later went on to play another superhero, Firestorm, in theArrowverse. In this series, Amell portrays Stephen Jameson, a young man who’s discovering his powers and has to decide whether he will fight his villainous uncle alongside other powered young people or work with him.
The series is full of action and tension and the characters are sympathetic, thanks to the solid cast.The Tomorrow Peopleis one ofthe shows that deserved more seasons than just one. But at least it got 22 episodes which is more than many other science fiction shows that were canceled too soon.
