Shadow Warriorstarted in 1997, and it was a computer game only. This 90s shooterthen took a long nap before coming back as a rebooted series in 2013 with the same name. It takes a while to get a sequel, but it has never been that long of a wait between them as much as it was with the original and the reboot.

Shadow Warrior 3is going to feel right at home for fans of the series. It does not elevate things to a huge degree, but it doesn’t backtrack on a lot of things either. There is a new grappling hook for example. It is mostly a tight experience, but it could use a few tweaks. Here are just a few handy suggestions for the developer.
6Add Photo Mode
Shadow Warrior 3is notthe best-looking shooteron modern consoles today. However, there are some impressive things about it. It is certainly one of the most colorful games around. What it lacks in realism it makes up for with a splash of creativity from the over-the-top blood splatters to the enemy designs.
It is a shame then that players cannot capture these moments of grotesque beauty with a Photo Mode. Most games tend to include them. It’s not a given but at least half of the AAA games that come out have a Photo Mode at launch. It’s not too late to add one intoShadow Warrior 3.

5Add More Aiming Options
The shooting mechanics could be tighter. The reason why it can be tricky to master getting the perfect shot in the game is that players cannot manually aim with most guns. That’s not thetype of shooter experiencethatShadow Warrior 3is.

This series is more of a callback to the90s when shooterswere more arcade-like. The series began in the 90s after all, 1997 to be precise. Players couldn’t aim down sites and snipe enemies into oblivion. They instead relied on firing from the hip with tons of ammunition without the need to reload. While it is great to get a nostalgic shooter like this, it would also be nice if there was a way to manually aim more with guns.
4Add 3D Models In The Extras
There are a few extras inShadow Warrior 3that help fill out the overall package. For example, there is an extra section where players can look at art. All of these drawings are 2D in nature. While they are different from the in-game art, they still fit well with the game’s overall aesthetic. As nice as these drawings of the neat little demons are, it would be great to get full 3D models to look too.
The enemies are some cooler aspects of the game. Players won’t get the time to fully appreciate them since they need to be blasted away with the various weapons in Lo Wang’s arsenal. That is the goal of this shooter andmost other shootersout there: kill all enemies on sight. That’s why it would be nice to get a 3D model viewer so that players could study them better.

3Increase Text Size
The text size inShadow Warrior 3is a bit ridiculous. There is no way to resize it either. This is troubling since players will be going back to the menu often to upgrade Lo Wang. The small text is only half of the problem.
The button prompts in the text are even smaller. If gamers are playing it on a console then they will have to get up and squint at the TV. This is not a joke. This is a legitimate problem that needs addressing in a patch. Maybe this was done intentionally as sort of troll to gamers.Shadow Warrior 3is trying to be funny at every turn. If the small text was a joke, itwasn’t a funny one.

2Add Waypoints
This may not happen to everyone but there are times when players may feel stuck. The easiest solution is to look for the golden dragon. Shooting this will open up a new doorway. It will appear after an arena match finishes up. However, since arenas are often big, players may find themselves turned around and lost even if there is a glowing golden dragon close by.

As a shooter,Shadow Warrior 3is pretty linear. It may still be nice to have a waypoint system or an arrow to point players in the right direction. The developers could copyDead Spacewhich had a brilliant marker in it. More games should copy that design choice andShadow Warrior 3could be one of them.
1Add Multiplayer
The coolest thingShadow Warrior 3could add in as a free piece of DLC would be some sort of multiplayer mode. Fighting against other players in atypical multiplayer shootermatch does not seem like it would be fun. However, a co-op horde mode would be perfect.
That is essentially the mechanic this game is designed around. Horde modes are just arenas that send seemingly endless waves of enemies at the player. Shooting enemies alone can be a fun aspect ofShadow Warrior 3but imagine doing that with a friend. There are ways to tie it into the story as well. Explaining that now would contain spoilers though. This is a good idea. That’s all fans need to know for now.

Shadow Warrior 3was released on March 1 and is available onPC,PS4, andXbox One.
