In the downtime between major patches, theFinal Fantasy 14team occasionally runs crossover events with other titles to help pass the time. This time around,it is a collaboration withFinal Fantasy 15,including a mini-story and rewards. One of the rewards is theRegalia, Noctis' iconic black car, and the ability to fly included. to have the ability to obtain it, first, you must complete the aforementioned mini-story, which does have a few roadblocks.

Do note this is a rerun of a previous event, asFinal Fantasy 14tends to do repeat events frequently. Should this event reappear, everything stated in this guide will still be accurate.

How to Complete “The Man in Black”

The first quest is the most straightforward of the three, as it just asks players to complete the FATE “Like Clockwork,” which will be marked on players' maps. It spawns every 5 - 10 minutes, so going to the marked location and the map and waiting will eventually make it appear. For the FATE itself, it starts with just a bunch ofMagitek Troopersthat can easily be grouped up and dealt with rather easily.

After most of the troopers have been dispatched, “MA-X” will spawn, acting as the boss of the FATE. The giant machine doesn’t pose too much of a threat, however. MA-X’s attacks are heavily telegraphed; even if a player messes up and gets hit, the damage isn’t lethal. With this encounter also being a FATE, most likely, there are a multitude of other players in the fight to heal and support. This and more plot development will complete the first quest.

How to Complete “In the Dark of Night”

Much like “The Man in Black,” there is also a required encounter in this quest, but this time it is an instanced encounter against “Iseultalon.” Due to its nature of being instanced, other players cannot assist in its defeat, although Noctis will join the battleto help defeat the creature.

The fight can catch players off guard with how fast and random certain attacks are, and there is a very real possibility this is the first time players will encounter the “tower” mechanic, requiring them to stand in it to resolve properly.

After this, like last time, there are a few more story sections, followed by the final quest of the story.

How to Complete “Messenger of the Winds”

Like the two previous quests, this one has an encounter as well, this time againstFinal Fantasy 15’s Garuda. Like Iseultalon, this is an instanced encounter taken on alongside Noctis, and this time the player is granted access to the duty action “Warp-Strike,” instantly teleporting the player to whatever they are currently targeting.

Do note it is on the global cooldown, meaning that you cannot spam it after doing part of your combo. Additionally, if executed alongside Noctis, it deals a decent amount of damage to Garuda.

The player should use Warp-Strike defensively to dodge attacks like “Mistral Shriek,” then use it again after it resolves to deal damage. Players should use caution when using Warp-Strike to confirm they are targeting what they actually want to dash at to avoid accidentally jumping at the boss and immediately having to restart because of it. The boss has other attacks, like “Mini Supercell,” a stack marker on Noctis that the player will need to stand near him to prevent heavy damage.

When the boss is around 50%, they will cast “Microburst.” This attack will constantly pull the player towards Garuda until near the end of the cast. When the cast ends, if the player is still near Garuda, they will take lethal damage. To handle this, wait until near the end of the cast to dash away, making sure to not attack to not make Warp-Strike go on cooldown.

In addition to this, Garuda also has an attack called “Gust Front,“which doesn’t have a cast but requires the player to stand on top of Noctis to handle. The telegraph for this is a red triangle pointing down on both characters. The boss also had a cast called “Wicked Tornado,” requiring players to get near the boss to avoid. There is also “Gravitational Force,” a cast that will place multiple attacks under players that lingers after they go out, so not retracing steps is vital.

When the boss falls into critical health, they will cast “Mistral Gaol,” locking the player in place. This is starting an “Active Time Maneuver,” requiring players to rapidly click the button on screen, or click buttons on their keyboards or controllers.

Keyboard players beware, pressing your “enter chat” button (default to the “enter” key), will open up your chat, which will disable your ability to deal with the event with your keyboard. Upon completion of the Active Time Maneuver, the battle will end.

Getting the Regalia

After Garuda is defeated and a few more quest turn-ins are completed, the story line will be completed. At this point, players will be allowed to purchase some rewards.

At the Gold Saucer, there will now be an Ironworks Vendor in Entrance Square, near the daily mini-cactpot vendor. At the Ironworks vendor, speaking with them, they will have a few items available for purchase with MGP, including the “Regalia Type-G Title,” which is the Regalia mount in question, alongside a hairstyle to look like Noctis, and a triple triad card for him.

The Regalia costs 200,000 MGP, so players may need to stick around in the area to earn enough to actually get their cars.
