Fallout 76has received numerous patches and updates since its launch, and it is nearly an entirely different game than when it first came out. Today marks the launch ofFallout 76’s fourth season, titled Cold Steel, bringing with it the release of the “Locked & Loaded” update.
For those who don’t know,Fallout 76is the multiplayer spin-off of the series that lets players explore a post-apocalyptic Appalachia to fight mutated enemies, build incredible camps, and interact with various factions and NPCs. Today sees the launch ofFallout 76’s Cold Steel seasonthat brings a number of events and updates from now until early August.

The update brings a lot forFallout 76players to try out and enjoy. The Cold Steel season comes with its own 100 tier pass that players can level up throughout the season to unlock various rewards like cosmetic skins and crafting materials. Some of the large additions include allowing players to have a second C.A.M.P. slot that allowsFallout 76players to build a second campon the map that they can fast travel to whenever they wish and new S.P.E.C.I.A.L. slots that allow players to have two sets of perks that they can switch between on the fly to suit their needs.
The update also adds some new functionality toFallout 76’s player-run vending machinesand display cases that allows for them to share inventory between a player’s two camps as well as now being able to be placed inside of a camp. Locked & Loaded also brings a sizable update toFallout 76’s Daily Ops. The update nearly doubles the amount of Daily Ops missions available with a new mission type, new enemies, modifiers, and locations for players to come across. The update also brings some community-requested features like an aim assist option, batch crafting, more information under the World Activity section of the menu, and various bug fixes and balance tweaks.
The update brings a lot of new content toFallout 76and it looks as though it will satisfy the game’s player base. With the rest of the Cold Steel season still ahead, there is a lot more to look forward to as well. While some players expressed their disappointment with the game at launch, Bethesda’s consistent efforts to update and improve the game are commendable, and has made a lot of progress towardsFallout 76being a title manyFalloutfans are happy with in 2021. Hopefully, the game will continue to receive great support and will keep on growing for its players well into the future.
