It wasn’t that long ago that MCU fans got their first official look at the nextDoctor Strangemovie. Now that the firstDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnesstrailer has dropped, it appears fans are going to be getting quite a bit more info, including just what exactly Chiwetel Ejiofor’s Mordo is going to look like in the upcoming film.
When last MCU audiences saw Mordo, he’d gone from one of the most trusted allies toDoctor Strangeto an enemy. It’s long been thought that while he hasn’t really appeared in any of the other films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he was almost guaranteed tomake an appearance inDoctor Strange 2. It turns out that theory proved to be true and now some new promotional material is shedding some light on what the wizard looks like these days.

The Twitter account BwithCinema got ahold of theDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnesspromotionalart that shows Mordo and his new look. This time around the former ally of Stephen Strange is sporting a new ‘do and he’s got some new threads to go with it. Wearing a green and gold robe, Mordo is shown in this newDoctor Strangeimage with a look of concentration on his face as he also wields a bit of magic. Whether he’s gearing up to fight his former friend or something else isn’t known, as he’s looking off into the distance and off-screen at whatever he’s getting ready to battle.
Considering that Mordo has seemingly been wandering the world (and perhaps the multiverse) since he split with Stephen Strange, it should come as no surprise that he looks quite a bit different than what he did when he was last seen on screen. Mordo, who could be calling himself Baron Mordo as he does in the comics, is thought to be one of thebig bads inDoctor Strange 2, though exactly what will unfold for him and Doctor Strange in the new film isn’t quite yet known.
It’s also possible that since the two wizards were strong allies inthe firstDoctor Strangemovie, there could be a way that they find their friendship again. On the other hand, Mordo has the kind of powers that would make him a worthy adversary for the man who was once the Sorcerer Supreme. Audiences will be able to find out just what unfolds later this year.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnesshits theaters on Jun 10, 2025.
