A fan of indie RPGDisco Elysiumhas pointed out that the game’s protagonist can dress in a way that evokes a character fromAttack on Titan. While absolutely unintentional, it provides a bit of a fun crossover for fans of both franchises.NOTE: Mild spoilers for bothDisco ElysiumandAttack on Titancan be found below.

As players progress throughDisco Elysium, they can find and equip all manners of clothing. Almost every article of clothing changesprotagonist Harry’s statsin some way, which can have a big impact on the game’s many skill checks. As a result, players will likely swap around clothing frequently, resulting in a range of funny ensembles. Some combinations of clothes, such as the FALN set, look much more professional than others; some look quite silly or out of place, inviting comparisons to other franchises.

Reddit user ukumelee noted that a particular combination of clothes inDisco Elysiummakes Harry resemble Mikasa Ackerman, the super-soldier fromAttack on Titan. In particular, the scarf bears a strong resemblance to the one Eren Jaeger gifted Mikasa, and which she wears constantly. The outfit further drives home the resemblance by equipping Lilliene’s saber, which looks like those employed byAttack on Titan’s Survey Corps, and the Kvalsund Multi-Tool in place of the Survey Corps' air canisters. The post includes a shout-out to Hajime Isayama, writer of theAttack on Titanmanga.

Unfortunately for Harry, the resemblance between Mikasa and him ends with the clothing. While players can guide Harry to make constructive choices and ultimately face a promising future, he is an unstable and self-loathing alcoholic. While the player can definewhat exactly Harry’s political views are, he isn’t nearly as passionate or competent as Mikasa in her efforts to protect the people she loves from Titans. Harry greatly relies on his investigative partner, Kim Kitsuragi, while Mikasa can confront almost any foe alone.

That said, both Mikasa and Harry are fixated on loved ones in their lives to a potentially harmful degree. Mikasa has effectively devoted her life to Eren, which causes enormous friction whenEren’s agenda no longer aligns with hers. In a similar way, Harry struggles to move on after his relationship with his one-time fiancee Dora deteriorates. Mikasa clearly does not cope as destructively as Harry does, but the pain both experience is likely similar.
