Summary
Diablo 4is coming to Game Pass on July 18, 2025, but players on PC will also need to install Battle.net in order to access the latest hack-and-slash title from Blizzard Entertainment. It’s been almost six months since Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard was finalized, and one of the benefits that players have been looking forward to the most has been the possibility of playing Blizzard franchises through the Game Pass. The first title to earn this privilege happened to beDiablo 4, which saw its initial release in June 2023, and is now in the middle of its third season.
While the reception to Season of the Construct hasn’t been as positive asSeason of Blood inDiablo 4, the story campaign and low-level gameplay have been the subject of universal praise since launch. The classes inDiablo 4are diverse, each with their own unique flavor, different approaches to mitigation, and gorgeously designed cosmetics. Being able to playDiablo 4with a Game Pass subscription should help breathe some new life into the game, especially as it slowly sets the stage for its upcoming expansion pack.

That being said, whereas Xbox players can simply accessDiablo 4straight from their library, players on PC will need to fulfill one additional requirement. In order toplayDiablo 4through Game Pass, PC players will need to install Battle.net, Blizzard’s personalized launcher and social platform that connects all Blizzard franchises together (and a few select Activision ones as well). While the process is not as smooth as playingDiablo 4on the Xbox, fans are hopeful that future Blizzard releases on Game Pass will have a more seamless experience for the PC.
How to Play Diablo 4 Through the Game Pass on PC
On top of the Battle.net requirement, the PC version ofDiablo 4for the Game Pass also doesn’t have Xbox’s achievements, as it will instead solely award Battle.net’s own achievements to players. While this does make the PC version ofDiablo 4a bit inconvenient to play through the Game Pass, players who want to explore the world of Sanctuary and slay hordes of demons as one ofDiablo 4’s five iconic classeswill be able to do so with an Xbox Game Pass subscription.
The future ofDiablo 4relies onVessel of Hatredhaving a successful release, as the expansion pack will take players to the familiar jungles of Kurast. It will bring a new class to the game, and expand on some of the missing features fromDiablo 4, such as introducing a follower system.Vessel of Hatredis expected to launch by the end of 2024, and it will likely require a separate purchase for players on the Game Pass subscription.
