There are already plenty of raids for players to challenge themselves with inDestiny 2, along with the new one coming inLightfall, but one player feels the next raid to come following the expansion’s release should tie into one of its key adversaries. The last two years have seen Bungie bring two of its more popular raids from the firstDestiny,Vault of Glassand King’s Fall, into the sequel, albeit with some changes to have them fit within the current sandbox. It can cause some players to believe the next raid may also be from the first game, though the player in question here suggests Bungie should look back to the Leviathan for its next raid to reprise.

Lightfallis the next major expansion forDestiny 2and will send guardians to the city of Neomuna, located on Neptune, to combat The Witness' forces as they invade the long-hidden city. Emperor Calus, who has become The Witness' newest disciple, is leading the invasion with his loyalist forces of the Shadow Legion while guardians are joined in the defense of Neomuna by the Cloudstriders, enhanced humans who have served as Neomuna’s protectors for centuries. Guardians will also be able to call on the power of Strand, a new Darkness subclass, to fight back against the Shadow Legion and any other threats to humanity.

The new raid coming inLightfallhas already been teased on Bungie’s official website, hinting at a danger growing “close to home” guardians will need to confront. It will be the first of two raids to be added over the next calendar year, the second being a reprised raid currently sitting in theDestinyContent Vault just waiting to be given a refresh. Reddit user Jackattack0571 suggests, givenEmperor Caluswill serve as a central antagonist forLightfall’s campaign, the next reprised raid should be taken from The Leviathan to highlight the former Cabal Emperor’s role in the universe since the launch ofDestiny 2.

If Bungie was to go with Jackattack0571’s suggestion, the studio would likely go with either the original Leviathan raid or the Crown of Sorrow raid from theSeason of Opulence. Leviathan, in particular, would need to undergo some significant changes as it was released duringDestiny 2’s first year when it was a double-primary weapon system, and the weapon changes inForsakenhighlighted how much easier the raid became. As for Eater of Worlds and Spire of Stars, it wouldn’t be surprising to see those stay by the wayside due to both being shorter raid lairs, though a rework could see them transformed into dungeons.

It will be some time before we see which raid Bungie ultimately decides to reprise, as the new raid will release as part ofLightfalland Season 20, while the next dungeon will release during Season 21. Aside from Leviathan, a popular choice among theDestinycommunity for the next reprised raid has beenWrath of the Machine, the fourth and final raid released during the firstDestiny’s lifecycle. Bungie has plenty to choose from, regardless, and all players can do is wait and see which is brought back and the state of the said raid.

Destiny 2is currently available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
