Even thoughDestiny 2continues to have a healthy population of players for a game that’s approaching its third anniversary in a few months, the community remains highly vocal about the numerous issues the game has. Things have gotten progressively worse in 2020 and with manylongtime players starting to step away from the game, there’s a renewed effort for Bungie to shed some light on its plans for the future. thankfully, the studio is finally ready to start talking.

One of the main complaints fromDestiny 2fans surrounds Trials of Osiris, an end-game activity that target’s the more skilled players. However, since its arrival, the mode has been negatively impacted by poor loot, numerous bugs, and rampant cheating on the PC. These issues have caused the player base to continually drop week after week, with many believing the mode won’t be sustainable soon.

However, the development team at Bungie is ready to talk about the feedback for Trials of Osiris and cheating. Chris ‘Cozmo23’ Shannon, one of theDestiny 2community managers, revealed the news in response to a Reddit thread asking the studio to be more transparent. He went on to say that the information would be available inside of the studio’s weekly blog post and the team is aware that a lot ofplayers are generally unhappy with the state of the game.

While the news may provide a glimmer of hope for frustrated players, there’s been a renewed push for more frequent development updates with many pointing to the blog posts that Christopher Barrett used to create in the first year ofDestiny 2. Following the release of Curse of Osiris,Destiny 2was also in a dark place with its community, but the more frequent blog posts aimed to communicate with the player base what Bungie was working on to improve the experience.

While the deep dives from Luke Smith have been positive, they’ve been very far apart and haven’t always delivered clear answers for fans. Compounding the issue is the fact that the world is currently going through a pandemic, which has forcedcompanies and studios to work from homeand has slowed progress due to the distance. With the current season and Guardian Games event not really hitting with the community, players are hopeful that Bungie can turn this around before the expected expansion launches later this fall.

Destiny 2is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
