The update features characters and references to some of the most popular indie titles of recent years likeHollow KnightandGuacameleewith the games featured being slowly announced over the course of the year.
Dead Cellswas first released by indie studio Motion Twin in August of 2018 and was an immediate hit with both fans and critics alike for its fast-paced gameplay combining many of the best elements of its contemporaries. The game won several awards following its release including Best Action Game at the 2018 Game Awards and has sold over five million copies as of March of 2021. Fans were understandably excited when Motion Twin announced the massive Everyone is Here crossover earlier this year and, now, the wait is officially over as Skul, The Knight, and many more officially join theDead Cellsroster.

Motion Twin’s official Twitter account announced Monday morning that the Everyone is Here update forDead Cellsis officially live on consoles. The game’s 26th update adds characters and cameos from aselection of popular indie gameslikeBlasphemous,Curse of the Dead Gods,Guacamelee,Hollow Knight,Hyper Light Drifter, andSkul. The flashy trailer for the update shows off some of the new characters in action likeSkul’s titular protagonist and a costume inspired byHollow Knight’s main character. Motion Twin also mentioned thatDead Cellsis still discounted by 40% on most digital stores.
The crossover-filled update is the most recent in a steady stream of contentDead Cellshas received since the game’s initial launch. The game has received two paid DLC updates and multiple free updates over its three-year lifespan with the most recent paid DLC,Fatal Falls, released earlier this year adding two new biomes as well as a new boss fight. Thankfully for fans looking to bring their favorite indie games intoDead Cells, the ‘Everyone is Here’ update is completely free.
