Infinity Ward greatly upsetCall of Duty: Warzonefans when it made the decision to completely remove the Plunder match type from the game, replacing it with the much less popular Warzone Rumble. Perhaps in response to fan backlash, Infinity Ward is now rolling out a newCall of Duty: Warzoneplaylist update that adds a Plunder variant to the game in the form of Blood Money.
Thereturn of Blood MoneyinCall of Duty: Warzonewas confirmed earlier this week, and Infinity Ward has delivered on its promise. For the uninitiated, Blood Money has basically the same rules as Plunder and is a very similar experience, but it is more aggressive as players get cash for every kill, regardless of if their opponent had any money on them. Some fans may still prefer the pure Plunder match type, but unfortunately, it’s unclear exactly when that will be added back to the game.

Meanwhile, Infinity Ward made another change to theWarzoneplaylists. When fans boot upWarzone, they will notice thatBR Solosis seemingly missing, but they just need to look for it in the sub menu. Presumably, BR Solos was moved to theWarzonesub menu to make room for the returning Blood Money playlist, though Infinity Ward stopped short of actually explaining why this was done.
The return of Blood Money inCall of Duty: Warzoneis the biggest change in the June 18 update, butCall of Duty: Modern Warfarehas been tweaked as well. Those playing the Hardcore playlists in the standardCall of Duty: Modern Warfaremultiplayer will notice that theMW2map Scrapyardis no longer part of the rotation. Again, Infinity Ward didn’t offer any reasoning as to why this is, so all fans can do is speculate.
It’s possible that Scrapyard was removed from Hardcore playlists due to the map being somewhat unpopular. For those that have yet to check it out,Scrapyard has a notorious camping spotwhere players are protected by a catwalk that can’t be penetrated by bullets. So while it’s possible Infinity Ward removed Scrapyard from Hardcore playlists for that reason, that’s just speculation at this time.
Fans can expect the nextCall of Duty: Warzoneupdatenext week, though Activision has yet to announce what it will entail.
Call of Duty: Warzoneis out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
