Rumors have been swirling that the mega-popularCall of Duty: Warzonebattle royale will be adding a new map at some point in the near future based in Urzikstan. And now it seems players may have an idea of what thenewWarzonemapwill use in place of the deadly gas that surrounds players in Verdansk.
Twitter account ModernWarzone released images of the Urzikstan map, showing that it has a sandstorm surrounding it. This has led some to speculate that the Urzikstan map rumored forCall of Duty: Warzonewill feature a sandstorm as its hazard in place of the poison gas. Of course, it’s possible that this Urzikstan map is being reserved for Spec Ops and won’t actually be coming to theWarzonebattle royale, though that would be surprising.

Infinity Ward has already incorporated many otherSpec Ops mapsinto theWarzonebattle royale, so while the Urzikstan map may initially only be for Spec Ops, one has to imagine that it will be featured inWarzonein some capacity at some point down the line. Maybe the map will added to the existing Verdansk map as part of an in-game event, or maybe it will be a full-fledged second map for fans of the battle royale to try.
Whatever the case may be, one thing is for certain, and that is new content is going to be released forCall of Duty: Warzonefor some time to come. It was recently confirmed thatCall of Duty: Warzonewill be a constant for the franchise, meaning that even whenCall of Duty 2020launches, support will continue forWarzone. It stands to reason that eventually Infinity Ward will release a secondWarzonemap to keep fans engaged, or make dramatic changes to the existing map like we see inFortnite.
Before such dramatic changes could happen to the map, though,Call of Duty: Warzonefans should expect much smaller ones to happen first. The first change that’s likely to happen is that theWarzonebunkers will open up, though what’s inside them remains a mystery.
While it’s possible thatCall of Duty: Warzoneseason 4 will introduce Urzikstan in some way, fans shouldn’t hold their breath. Expect Infinity Ward andRaven Softwareto keep releasing updates for the game on a weekly basis.
Call of Duty: Warzoneis out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
