Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3players can potentially look forward to playing as Kate Laswell in the game’s multiplayer suite. TheModern Warfarereboot games have made it a habit to have major campaign characters become available to play as in multiplayer a few months after launch. This past Spring sawModern Warfare 2’s newest campaign characters,Los Vaqueros leader Alejandro Vargasand Las Almas Cartel boss Valeria Garza, make their way to multiplayer as playable operators in Season 3. More recently, Commander Phillip Graves, an antagonist inModern Warfare 2’s campaign and the leader of Shadow Company, made his return in multiplayer as well.

Now, asCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 3approaches in less than a month, information regarding the game’s new multiplayer operators have leaked. On Twitter, CharlieIntel called attention to an account named Task Force Leakers Network who revealed that Kate Laswell, a figure of authority in 2019’sModern Warfarereboot and in last year’s sequel, will become a playable multiplayer operator inModern Warfare 3. As a newCall of Dutycharacter who debuted inModern Warfare(2019), this would be the first time she’s playable if the leak turns out to be true.
While unknown, it’ll be interesting to find out if Laswell will be aModern Warfare 3launch operator or if she’ll become available as part of a later season like Alejandro, Valeria, and Graves. It would also be interesting to know if players will get to play as her for a campaign mission or two.Modern Warfare 2’s campaign saw Laswell becoming more active in the field alongside Price, Ghost, and others, so her having her own campaign missions seems like a natural progression for her character. That said, it’s important to remember that neither Alejandro, Graves, nor Valeria were playable inModern Warfare 2’s campaign, so whileLaswell may remain heavily involved, it still seems unlikely that she’ll become playable in the campaign.
It’s a safe bet that the veteranModern Warfareicons like Captain Price, Ghost, and Soap will remain playable inModern Warfare 3’smultiplayerat launch. However, since this is the third, and possibly last installment in theModern Warfarereboot trilogy, it would be satisfying for many fans to see Price and Ghost in particular be playable in their own campaign missions. Neither of the two iconic characters fell into the hands of players, at least in the traditional sense, in 2019’sModern Warfarecampaign or its sequel. Fans will have to wait just under a month to find out who else they can play as inModern Warfare 3’s campaign and multiplayer suite.
