It was initially introduced as a Wager Match inCall of Duty: Black Ops, and in subsequent releases would slowly make its way into matchmaking playlists. With it not being included inCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2at launch, many assumed it wouldn’t return, so its inclusion in Season 2 was a pleasant surprise. There are still other modes coming to the game that haven’t yet made it, withGunfight Mode coming toCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2in Season 3, so there’s plenty to look forward to yet.

The clip can be viewedhereand was posted to Reddit by user The_Noid8 and shows them winning a round of Gun Game in just 38 seconds. The player’s strategy is simple - stand in one place. The game takes place on Shipment, a map too small to handle large numbers of players, so the game continues to spawn players right in front of The_Noid8. This allows them to go from the starting RAPP H to the final throwing knife in such a short space of time. With the mode a recent addition to the game, it might just be the quickest ever Gun Game inCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
Many in the comments took the video as an opportunity to vent their frustrations about the spawns of Shipment, with the free-for-all nature of Gun Game only exacerbating the map’s spawn problems. Despite the complaints, Shipment remains an extremely popular map in the game, and has been a staple of theCall of Dutyfranchise since 2007’sCall of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Such is the popularity of the map that Infinity Ward added aShipment 24/7 playlist forCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, making it exceptionally fast to gain XP in-game.
As 2023 rumbles on, rumors continue to swirl about the future of the franchise. Current rumors suggest thatCall of Duty2023 will be a continuation of theModern Warfareseries, as Sledgehammer Games takes the mantle from Infinity Ward once again. Hopefully, it won’t be too long until players can officially find out what the studio is planning for the franchise’s next release.
