While they have not physically appeared within the campaign of the recent reboot of theModern Warfarefranchise, older fans will definitely know of Soap and Ghost, two pivotal characters who were fan-favorites within the originalModern Warfaretrilogy. While exact details regarding the character of Alejandro Vargas are still relatively unknown at this point, an article posted on the officialCall of Dutywebsite offers some valuable additional context. According to the article, it appears that Vargas is not actually a member of Task Force 141, and will be working alongside the team as a member of the Mexican Special Forces. It is also worth noting that Vargas shares a first name with Alejandro Rojas fromthe originalMW2campaign. Rojas was a Brazilian arms dealer within the original game who acted in an antagonistic role. It’ll be interesting to see if the similarly-named Vargas plays a new part, or if Infinity Ward’s choice of name is a sign of things to come.
