Activision’sCall of Dutycompanion app is used primarily to connect players together and track the user’s in-game performance. The app services the recent additions to theCall of Dutyfranchise by giving users a 24/7 newsfeed of information and content. Fans are able to not only track their stats but compare it to friends across several different platforms.
The app is fairly functional except for some minor reoccurring problems that appear. The Activision Companion App Developer has released a workaround for one of the more common problems, the offline appearance of squads within the app.

The developer recommends that players log in using the email and password option instead ofthe first-party account, which should fix the issue and show squads as active within theCall of Dutycompanion app. To find out the email and password for first-party accounts, players must log in to the mainCall of Dutywebsite and go into their profile. From there players an see the email associated with the account and can set a new password if needed.
The developer expects that the issue will be corrected in thenext build of the appand players will be able to see active squads. In addition to this fix, they are addressing a different inactive squad error that interacts with the weekly tournament structure. The next build should be released on Monday morning with the corrections made.
As of right now, theCall of Dutycompanion app supportsCall of Duty: Modern Warfare, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4,andCall of Duty: WWII.The main function of the app is to allow players a chance tocompete against friendsand see how they rate against their squad. Extra tools within the app can allow players an extra edge over the competition, along with additional rewards for opening it every week.
TheCall of Dutycompanion app has been generally well-received by fans. With this upcoming fix, the squad functionality will improve and players will have a more active feed of their stats in the weekly tournaments.
