Since launchingGhost of Tsushima:Legendsa year ago, Sucker Punch Productions' co-op multiplayer mode has developed a dedicated fan following. AmongstSony’s currently singleplayer dominated portfolio, the online experience is unlike any other exclusive within the PlayStation ecosystem. Thanks to the successful launch of the PS5’sGhost of Tsushima Director’s Cut, and the fact thatLegendscan now be purchased as a standalone game, players are likely going to keep returning to the Japanese island for some time to come.

Part of what’s madeGhost of Tsushima: Legendsa hit is the way in which Sucker Punch has separated Jin’s abilities from the singleplayer campaign, and created four unique classes that players can take online. As a natural consequence of this process, the Assassin, Hunter, Ronin, and Samurai classes all serve different roles on the battlefield. Knowing how to build a loadout for each that maximizes their effectiveness, is therefore a crucial part of the entire experience.

Ghost of Tsushima Assassin class is great for getting stealth kills

Assassin Class

Following the release ofGhost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut,Legends' suite of multiplayer modes and maps has been expanded. Despite the additions, the Assassin class remains the deadliest close quarters fighter in the game. One build that’s particularly lethal, and leans into the Assassin’s moniker, focuses on combining the Shadow Strike Ultimate power with the Group Vanish ability. With this setup players can become invisible with both, before assassinating entire waves of supernatural-themed enemies without them becoming aware of what’s happening.

Selecting the Critical Hit, Experienced Assassin, and Shadow Storm perks are recommended, as they raise the speed, efficiency, and power of the character’s main assassination attacks. Equipping a Touch of Heaven Sticky Bomb that has a Cool Down Reduction perk is vital to this build as well, because it allows the Assassin to spam explosives whilst rapidly building the Resolve needed to become invisible. When it comes to a katana, any that the player feels particularly comfortable using will suffice, as the Bomb Pack that unlocks extra concussion bombs will bealmost exclusively used in all ofLegends' modes.

Ghost Of Tsushima Legends Hunter Class

Hunter Class

InGhost of Tsushima: Legends, the Hunter class' archery attacks can be even more powerful than the onesJin uses during his singleplayer quest. While a few build options are available to players wanting to play online as a sniper, the headshot-guaranteeing Eye of Uchitsune Ultimate ability and Skipping Stone Bow combo is arguably the most viable. With this pair selected, every headshot ricochets into nearby enemies for even more damage. Equipping the Explosive Arrow class ability that’s unlocked at level 10 on top of this, effectively allows the Hunter to take down waves with a single devastation shot.

Considering the potential of this combination, selecting perks that make headshots more powerful is recommended. Taking Executioner ensures that all headshots receive a 50% damage buff, while Pinpoint gives body shots a 50% chance of being classed as headshots. The Status Damage perk is a good option to have in the final slot, as the Hunter’s fire arrows get a 25% damage increase thanks to it. While melee weapons will only ever be a final resort, having a Moon Katana that’ssupported by Sticky and Smoke Bombsis also a solid shout to round out the build.

Ghost of Tsushima Survival Missions should be done with a Ronin

Ronin Class

When it comes to traditional multiplayer class archetypes,Ghost of Tsushima: Legends' Roninwould be best described as the medic of the quartet. Keeping teammates alive is not only going to be any Ronin’s primary objective, in most circumstances it’s arguably going to be their one and only focus. Mastering such an important role, that can often make or break the game’s harder difficulties, naturally calls for a laser focused loadout.

Even though the class has two abilities, the Ronin’s medic specialityensures that from level 10 onwards players will want to equip the Healing Incense ability, which restores the health of nearby allies. Maximizing the efficiency of this power is subsequently the name of the game when it comes to selecting class perks as well, with The Ronin Unleashed, Resolve Increase, and Soothing Breath, all offering buffs that extend the longevity and effectiveness of healing. Padding out the build with defense charms will also help transform the Ronin into a wellbeing-focused tank.

The imposing Samurai - Ghost of Tsushima Legends Samurai Guide

In the rare circumstances where Ronin players aren’t managing the health of their teammates, Sticky Bombs and a Water Katana aren’t bad offensive options to have on hand thanks to their staggering potential. However, the Spirit Kunai that can be selected as a secondary weapon should be used in most circumstances, as kills with the ranged weapon reduces the Ronin’s cooldowns by a handy 15%.

Samurai Class

Of all the classes inGhost of Tsushima: Legends, the Samurai is perhaps the closest the game gets to a solid and reliable Assault archetype. In most circumstances, this class is the one that’s best equipped to lead the line whilst dishing out consistently high damage. Creating a build around this simple concept is therefore more straightforward in comparison to other classes available within the game.

Equipping Explosive Blade in the class ability slot, whilst selecting the Resolve Increase, Deep Strikes, and Hachiman’s Frenzy perks, are all paramount when it comes to maximizing the amount of damage that Samurai can unleash. Unlocking a Samurai Charm that boosts melee damage and the radius of the Explosive Blade will exacerbate the class' devastating potential even further. When it comes to physical weapons, players can’t go wrong with a Water Katana that has melee damage and stagger damage buffs. Rounding out this build with a Half Bow, Spirit Kunai, and Caltrops, will add even more firepower andincrease the versatility of the Samurai.
