Staying true to the mythos, Fel’s appearance is that of a gigantic wolf, and he has an aura of mysticism surrounding him. His personality, however, is the opposite. His prideful and gluttonous nature immediately becomes apparent.
While he may not be not the best animal companion out there, Fel does the job just fine by keeping Mukohda company and ensuring other beasts and monsters respect his master. As long as Mukohda can dish out an appetizing meal, Fel has no issue serving as a familiar to a mere human from a different world.

Ranga may not look the part of a traditional animal companion, yet he fulfills the role earnestly. Despite his master being a literal slime, Ranga is extremely loyal to Rimuru, aiding him whenever necessary.

Night isa resourceful and versatile companionas he can sense ominous dangers, level up alongside Yuya, and fight off monsters in combat. However, resourcefulness isn’t the only prerequisite to being a great companion. Loyalty and support triumphs over anything else. Luckily for Yuya, Night checks all the right boxes, making him one of the best animal companions out there.

Despite being a demon Nekomata, Kirara takes on the appearance ofan adorable two-tailed cat. Appearances can be deceiving, however, as this little fluffball can transform into a demon-like sabertooth ready to fight alongside her allies. While Kirara may be a mere companion to the central characters, her role is quite significant in the series.
