In a post for Instagram, Leslie posted her take on the iconic Storm, who is a mutant from the X-Men series and arguably one of the strongest heroes in the Marvel Universe. Previously played by Halle Berry and Alexandra Shipp, the role is now open for a new actress to take over. Shipp recently said toComicBookMovie.com, “I loved the experience. I think it was so definitive of my 20s to be part of that… I’d never worked on anything so big and to also be able to play not only one of my favorite superheroes growing up, but also reprising a role Halle Berry played was a huge honor…In the future, I think I’d like to see a woman of darker complexion play Storm.” WithKeke Palmer expressing interest in playing Roguein an X-Men film, it’s possible that Marvel Studios may be keeping its eyes out now.
Leslie is known for playing Batwoman in the self-titled CW television show. Leslie became the leading star of the show after the former talent left due to creative disagreements. Leslie’s performance was incredible and she did a phenomenal job stepping up to the plate. Despite the show’s prominence on the CW channel, it wasn’t enough to keep it going, asBatwomanwas canceled by The CW.
Leslie’s resume is long and speaks for itself, so it won’t be long until fans see the star enter a new role. It’s also possible that Leslie may even end up in the DC or Marvel Cinematic Universe with how things are going now. Both properties are continuing to make stories while also reworking their business plans. Recently,James Gunn was named head of DC’s film division, and Marvel Studios previously went on a retreat to work out a ten-year plan for their upcoming films and television shows. Hopefully, this all ends up for the benefit of the fans.
