The newest update forAmong Ushas introduced many new aspects to the viral multiplayer game. One of these is the inclusion of in-game currency that can be used to purchase cosmetics and the game’s take on the Battle Pass known asCosmicubes.
There are two types of currency inAmong Us. The first of these and the most common is Beans, likely named after the crewmates' bean-like appearance. The other currency is known as Stars, which are earned in a much different way than Beans.

It is important to note that neither Beans nor Stars are needed to play well inAmong Us. Both are purely involved with the purchase of cosmetic items that aren’t necessary to actual gameplay.
How to Get Stars in Among Us
While Beans are earned through playing through public or privateAmong Usgames, Stars can’t be earned this way. Instead,Stars serve as a premium currency that players need to directly purchasein order to support the developers.
Stars can be purchased through the in-game shopvia the Stars tab. The prices for Stars in USD are currently the following:
20
$1.99
30
$2.99

There are multiple cosmetic bundles and Cosmicubes that can only be bought with Stars instead of Beans from the in-game store. These packs are:
Bundle or Comicube
Trick Cosmicube
70 Stars
Some of the bundles were previously part ofAmong Us’s DLC packs. Players who have already purchased these DLC packs will still get to keep their contents without needing to pay for Stars. The bundles will additionally be considered already purchased on players' accounts. These DLC packs are no longer available for purchase through the Steam store, making it a requirement for players to buy Stars if they didn’t already own them beforehand and still want them.
More cosmetic bundles and Comicubes requiring Star purchases are likely to appear further on inAmong Us’s lifespan. This will mean players will have more motivation to supportthe team behindAmong Usand likely provide even more large gameplay updates like this recent one. Star purchases are still entirely optional, allowing players to still enjoy the game even if they don’t want to put more money into it.
Among Usis available now on PC, Switch, and mobile devices. PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S versions are in development.
