Overwatch 2is on its way with many questions still surrounding it. One of these questions is about the various skins that were available to players in the originalOverwatch. While crossplay with the originalOverwatchis confirmed, it isn’t confirmed if all of the original skins will be returning for players that buy the sequel.

It could be possible that players could keep any skin they unlocked inOverwatchand bring them over toOverwatch 2, but the question for new players still remains. Players who only buy the new title could only be able to get the skins added toOverwatch 2. Either way, whether they are limited time events or just good looking skins, these skins will hopefully be made available in the sequel.

Pink - Mercy

Mercy’s Pink skinwas a legendary skin only available for a limited time for players who donated money to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation from May 8th, 2018 to May 21st, 2018. All of the money that players used to purchase the skin went to the charity with various officialOverwatchlive streams being active as well with the focus of raising money for charity.

Ever since this charity event, Pink Mercy hasn’t been available for purchase with no other charity event taking place forOverwatchagain. However,Overwatch 2seems like the perfect game to host another charity event where players can get this skin once more. It could be possible for other characters to get pink skins as well themed around breast cancer awareness.

Overwatch Tracer

Slipstream - Tracer

Slipstream is a skin for Tracer that can only be unlocked by purchasingOverwatch: Origins Edition,Overwatch: Game of the Year Edition, orOverwatch: Legendary Edition. This skin shows Tracer before her piloting accident resulting in her being displaced in time.

Not only is this skin heavily connected to thelore behind Tracer, it’s also a very good looking skin. The yellows and blues go very well together with Tracer’s sunglasses and scarf tying the whole look together. It could be possible that this skin would only be obtainable through buying special editions ofOverwatch 2like how it is with the original game, but it could be unlocked normally due to howOverwatch 2is meant to be more lore focused than the original.

Overwatch Sombra

Demon Hunter - Sombra

Demon Hunter was originally a Sombra skin exclusive toOverwatchplayers who attendedBlizzCon 2018. However, the skin later became available for allOverwatchplayers for a limited time during 2019’s Halloween event. This skin is a reference to the Demon Hunter class from Blizzard’s own series,Diablo. While wearing this skin, Sombra’s eyes glow yellow and the entire Demon Hunter look is translated into theOverwatchart style.

Talon - Widowmaker

Widowmaker’s Talon skin was released forOverwatch’s Archives event. This skin depictsWidowmaker while she was being trainedon becoming Talon’s perfect assassin. More importantly, it shows Widowmaker before Moira turned her skin blue.

Other than being a good looking skin, this skin could be used in astory mission forOverwatch 2where players have to play as Widowmaker as she is put through her initial training. This could help players see what’s going on in her head and help hint at where her story is going to go.

Overwatch Widowmaker Lore Skin

Black Cat - D.Va

Black Cat is alegendary skin for D.Vathat gives her a frilly black dress, checkered leggings, cat ears, and a black cat themed Mecha. Her Mecha even has a tail with a bow on the end.

This skin is one of the cutest skins inOverwatchand would be an overall shame to see it retired inOverwatch 2. It likely would have absolutely no lore significance, but the majority of the skins inOverwatchare just there for aesthetic anyway. D.Va has a lot ofnice looking skins, but if any of them had to make it over, Black Cat should be the one.

Deadlock - McCree

Deadlock is a skin that depicts a very young McCree from when he was a criminal from the Deadlock Gang before being picked up by Gabriel Reyes and put into Blackwatch. Considering that this skin was from whenMcCree and Ashesaw more eye to eye, this skin could be used inOverwatch 2in a section showing where things went south between the two.

Additionally, this skin could be used in a section where players have to play asReyes before he became Reaperwhile on the mission to take down Deadlock. McCree could even be a boss in his young state.

Overwatch Dva Cat

Young Genji - Genji

Genji’sYoung Genji skindepicts him as how he looked before being nearly killed by his brother, Hanzo. Without the cybernetic enhancements provided by Mercy, Genji has far more skin than metal compared to his current state inOverwatch’s lore. Although this skin was released withOverwatch’s full release, it still holds up as a very good looking skin.

As mentioned with McCree’s younger skin, Genji in this skin could beused as a bossof sorts when playing throughOverwatch 2. However, it tragically would have players control Hanzo as they go through the task of killing Genji.

Overwatch Mccree

Gorgon - Lucio

Despite not being a legendary skin,Lucio’s Gorgon skinis absolutely gorgeous. It was released forOverwatch’s Halloween event and it gives Lucio glowing green eyes, as well as fully animated snakes for hair. The snakes are constantly slivering around, hissing, and looking for prey. Considering that Lucio’s main color is green, this skin gives a great twist to this color, creating a gorgon that nobody wants to tear their eyes away from.

Cultist - Zenyatta

Another one ofOverwatch’s fantastic Halloween skins isZenyatta’s cultist skin. This skin causes Zenyatta to resemble what is commonly artistically depicted as Cthulhu. This skin changes Zenyatta’s weapons to have animated eyes on them that are always looking around, Zenyatta’s ultimate showing tentacles instead of arms, and some of Zenyatta’s voice lines to more haunting variants. It’s an overall well thought out skin that deserves to return inOverwatch 2.

Talon - Baptiste

Finally, another skin connecting toOverwatch’s lore that definitely needs to return is Baptiste’s Talon skin. Being anex-member of Talon, playing as Baptiste as he defects from the terrorist organization would make for an interesting section inOverwatch 2.

Even without considering the lore, this is agood skin for Baptiste, as most of the young skins are. It would be great to have it return for the sequel along with Baptiste.

Overwatch Genji Skin
